Social activities for students The College aims to encourage student to interact and participate in social
activities in order to improve their language skills, meet other students as
well as immerse themselves in Australian culture. Excursions are organised within
individual classes to provide students with an informal lesson out of the traditional
classroom environment. The outcome of this is that our students are able to
take a break from being enclosed by 4 walls, and a lot of the times, the excursions
take them to places they themselves may have never encountered in their own
country. The College has also been the sponsor of the Sikh Sports Games since
2004. This event is held each year in April and students are encouraged to participate
and display their talent on the field. Individual colleges have also held parties
such as Christmas in July, where students have put on crazy hats, met new friends
and had a beer with college staff! On top of this, our welfare department is also planning to create a job seeking workshop for students in the near future. We aim to have seminars that will provide students with information on how to look for employment as well as promote the idea of an exchange between students of their tales of experience, difficulties, and eventually, successful outcomes! |
