Description: This qualification provides the skills and knowledge for an individual to be competent in designing, developing and utilizing basic multimedia briefs wither as an independent ICT specialist or as part of a team.
Job Opportunities: A person could work in a number of areas in the broad ICT and multimedia industries. Possible job titles include: 3D Animator, Designer, Game Developer, Multimedia Designer, Multimedia Author, PC Games Programmer, Software Support Engineer, Web Designer, Xbox Programmer.
Entry Requirements: Year 10 or equivalent or qualify for mature-age entry (over 20 years old at the time of enrolment)
International students: IELTS 5.5 or equivalent
Entry Requirements for the course will depend on the Australian Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) assessment level for the country. Prerequisite Requirements: The following units are prerequisites for this qualification as they contain the basic fundamentals of ICT knowledge and skills: Follow workplace safety procedure (BSBCMN106A), Design organisational documents using computing packages (ICAD2012A), Operate a personal computer (ICAU1128A), Operate computer hardware (ICAU2005A),Operate computing packages (ICAU2006A), Integrate commercial computing packages (ICAU2013A), Use computer operating system (ICAU2231A), Work effectively in an IT environment (ICAW2001A), Communicate in the workplace (ICAW2002A).
Completion: Upon successful completion of this course you will receive a nationally recognised Certificate IV in IT (Multimedia) (ICA40805). Students who do not complete all units may be eligible for a Statement of Attainment in partial completion of a Certificate IV in IT (Multimedia) (ICA40805).
Teaching Methods: Face to Face Delivery, supervised study in a realistic work based scenario, research, assignments
Assessments Methods: Includes workbook, Role Plays and Simulations, Case Study Project or Scenario, Portfolio Work, Questionnaire and other appropriate assessment methods depending on the study unit.
